If there is one area in which The Fox Covert excels it is in its fabulous range of food and drink.
If you are a person who cares about the highest quality, locally produced and freshest ingredients, then our à la carte restaurant, bar meals, Sunday lunches and buffets will truly satisfy you.
Having taking the decision to become a totally smoke-free pub in January, the fresh atmosphere has proved a real hit with diners.
Our team of six experienced chefs have used their combined knowledge to create a fantastic range of dishes - from hearty traditional fare such as fish and chips, with fresh fish caught in nearby Redcar, to sophisticated a la carte offerings such as roast French duck or breast of chicken with stilton.
The menus are regularly updated while maintaining many favourites and all meats are supplied by a traditional butcher from Thirsk.
Sunday lunches at The Fox Covert are an attraction for many of our guests who love the choice of roast lamb, beef, pork, chicken or turkey, with seasonal vegetables and Yorkshire puddings a must. Our entry in the Campaign For Real Ale’s Good Beer Guide 2007 is not by chance – we stock the finest ales, such as Theakston’s Old Peculiar and the Edinburgh ale Deuchers and keep our visitors happy with regular guest ales.
Our wine list offers something for all palates, with white wines from places such as South Africa, Italy, Germany and Australia. We also have Red wines from Spain, France and Chile.
